| The Langley-Aldergrove Dodgers followed up their 2 impressive victories Friday (3-2 ov SOMBA Tigers (Penticton) and 22-3 over PBF Redbirds (Calgary)) with what many in the crowd thought to be the greatest game in franchise history. The Dodgers were facing a strong and highly motivated squad in the form of the U15 DOW Baseball (of Seattle). The Americans were in a win or go home situation and eventually prevailed 3-2, but only after a game that will be remembered by all the participants and many of the parents and assembled crowd for uears to come. | Posted Jun 28/12 - Dodgers Fall to Abby Angels |
| Despite outhitting and defensively outplaying their opposition, the Langley Aldergrove Dodgers fell 6-3 Wednesday night to the Abbotsford Angels. The Dodgers threatened in each of the first few innings, but left several men on base. Nevertheless, Langley Aldergrove seemed to be in control of the game after taking a 3-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning spurring the exit of Angel starter Jeremyi Longpre. On defence, the Dodger infield played well and made the plays look easy. Starting pitcher Ethan Kano McGregor also had good command early and throttled the Abbotsford squad before finally giving up a solo home run to Angel shortstop Jordan Loewen in the bottom of the 4th. Unfortunately, the men left on base came back to haunt the Dodgers as the Angels scored 3 of their own in the bottom of the 5th inning on 3 walks and a long double off the bat of Austen Zacher. Zacher, who'd come into the game in relief of Longpre then shut the door. Read More...

| The Langley Aldergrove Dodgers lucked out with the weather on Saturday in Chemainus and played extremely well in defeating the Cowichan Valley Mustangs 10-0 and 12-0. The key to the effort was two stellar pitching performances by starters James Hardy and John Lipp who each went the distance in their respective games to earn a shutout and a win. The starters were well supported by the Dodger defence (they made no errors on the day) and the bats which came alive to score 22 runs on 23 hits. Notables on offence in the first game were Bailey Roope who went 2 for 3, Yi-Fan Pan, who went 3 for 3, and Ethan Kano McGregor who went 2 for 4 while playing well behind the plate. In the second game, Notables on offense were Jaron Jeske who had 3 singles in 4 at-bats and Mitch Taylor who went 2 for 4 including a long triple to the fence. Read More...

| The Langley-Aldergrove Dodgers followed up a pair of lackadaisical efforts on Saturday against the the North Island Blizzard with a fabulous team effort on Sunday against the No 4 ranked Tri City Indians. In Saturday action at home the Dodgers spotted the visitors early runs in both games, but came back in each to make it close. Despite the comebacks the Dodgers ultimately lost to the Blizzard who came into the weekend with a 4-18 record. The final scores were 9-5 in the first game and 6-5 in the second game. Read More...

| Posted Jun 2/12 - Dodgers Use Total Team Effort to Topple Angels |
| The Langley Aldergrove Dodgers used a total team effort on Saturday afternoon defeating the visiting Abbotsford Angels 3-0. The high-flying Angels were 19-3 on the season coming into the game, but the hometown Dodgers played nearly flawless ball to handily defeat one of the top 3 teams in the Province. Through a combination of dominant pitching, sparkling defence and timely hitting the Dodgers really seemed to come together as a team. Starter Ethan "Big E" Kano McGregor, who later in the game made a fabulous diving grab in centre field to rob an Angel of a sure double and thereby earn the Dirty Dodger award for the game, went 3 scoreless innings before reaching his pitch count. He then handed the ball off to Spencer "Sparky" Barkes who built on his recent strong outings and went the remaining 4 innings mowing down the Angels hitters one after another to preserve the joint shutout. Indeed, the Angels were only able to muster 4 base runners on the day and none of those reached second base safely as catcher Mitchell Taylor threw out one runner and a crisp twin killing disposed of another. | Posted Jun 1/12 - Dodgers Look to Redeem After Loss to Angels |
| The Langley Aldergrove Dodgers will be looking for redemption Saturday after falling to the Abbotsford Angels in well-played Bantam AAA action Wednesday evening. The Dodgers, taking the field as the 'visitors', appeared to start strong on in the first inning on singles by Cole Cantelon, Ethan Kano McGregor and John Lipp, but were stymied by the strong arm of Angels catcher Tanner Rempel and a missed hit-and-run signal that doomed Cantelon at second. In the bottom of the frame Cantelon, the Dodgers' starter, threw strikes and avoided trouble with the benefit of a beautiful 6-4-3 (Kano McGregor to Arnold to Yi-Fan Pan) double play. However, in the bottom of the second the disciplined and well-coached Angels found their groove and broke the game open with a series of hits against Cantelon, eventually putting 6 earned runs on the board. Although the Dodgers had base runners in the 4th and 5th innings, the hometown squad was unable to plate anyone as the Dodgers' offense was held in check by Angels pitcher Austen Zacher. Read More...

| Langley Aldergrove Dodgers gave a full team effort and earned a split in their double header vs. White Rock Tritons Saturday afternoon in White Rock. In both games the Tritons surged out of the gate (going ahead by 3 runs in the first game and 6 runs in the second game) only to see the Dodgers storm back. In the first game James Hardy relieved starter Ethan Kano McGregor and performed well holding the Triton bats at bay. While on offense, the Dodger bats finally came alive and scored 10 runs to seal the victory. Big hits and RBI's were supplied by Bailey Roope, James Hardy, Jaron Jeske, and Yi-Fan Pan. Mitch Taylor, as well as playing excellent behind the plate, earned 2 RBI's by putting the ball in play. Read More...

| Posted May 15/12 - Dodgers Close Out First Part of Season |
| The Langley-Aldergrove Dodgers closed out the first part of their regular season on Sunday losing to the high flying Cloverdale Spurs and the Victoria Eagles in a pair of weekend double headers. The coaching staff is pleased with the progress of the team and, while they would have preferred another win or two over the first 16 games, they know that this was a particularly tough stretch of games against most of the elite teams in the league. Although the Dodgers finished this stretch with a disappointing 5-11 record, it is not far off the pre-season expectations when the coaches plotted out the season. The coaches know that a good foundation has been laid, they remain confident, and they expect some very big things over the next 2 or three months. Read More...

| Posted May 9/12 - Dodgers Disappoint at Home |
| After 6 straight games on the road the Langley-Aldergrove Dodgers returned home to face the Tri City Indians at Aldergrove Athletic Park Tuesday night. Although the game was tied 1- 1 after two innings, the Dodgers showed signs early that they might not have come to play. Although there were only 3 official errors on the night, there were several mental errors that, together with the ones in the scorebook, led to all 8 runs earned by visiting team. On the positive note, there was much more hustle and several diving plays and attempts by the Dodger fielders. The coaching staff is hopeful these are signs the team may be coming out of its funk. Indeed, Cole Cantelon earned the team's first, highly prized, and very prestigious "Dirty Dog" award for his play at first, second, and on the base paths. Read More...

| Posted May 7/12 - Dodgers Drop Two in Vancouver |
| The Langley Aldergrove Dodgers travelled to Hillcrest Park in Vancouver Sunday for an afternoon double header against the powerhouse Vancouver squad. The Dodgers came up empty dropping both games to the Mounties, perennial favorites in the Bantam AAA Division. In the first game, the Dodgers fell behind early and tried to claw back in the middle frames, but eventually lost 9 - 2. Dodger starter Cole Cantelon was game, struck out 5, and moved his pitches around. However, the Mountie hitters were aggressive and worked the counts eventually tagging him for 10 hits before he reached his pitch count and handed the ball off to Bailey Roope. On the other side of the ball, the Dodgers were held to just two hits: singles by Ethan Kano McGregor and Matt Selinger, with the runs driven in by Sean Donnelly (who came off the DL prior to the game and saw limited action) and Yi-Fan Pan. Dodger hurlers didn't fair any better against the hot-hitting Mounties in the second half of the double header. Selinger started on the mound and gave up 7 runs, 6 Earned, on 5 hits over 3 innings. Spencer Barkes came on in relief and looked sharp early, but eventually yielded 6 runs in his inning of work, with the Mounties putting the game away with a 3 run double and a 3 run home run. | The Langley-Aldergrove Dodgers returned home from their very first road trip of the season winning the first one, but losing three games against the Victoria Black and Red Eagles. The weekend started off well with a 8-5, come from behind victory vs. the Victoria Black Eagles behind the pitching of Yi-Fan Pan and Bailey Roope. In the second game, the Dodger bats, which were otherwise hot for the weekend, were stymied for the first few innings. There were several good at bats and some sparkling defensive play as the Dodgers kept it close and came back with runs in the last inning. However, the late inning rally proved too little too late. | Posted Apr 24/12 - Dodgers Extend Streak with Gutsy Comeback Win |
| The two newest teams in BC Minor's Bantam AAA league went head to head Monday night facing each other for the third time in this young season. Once again the Langley-Aldergrove Dodgers came out on top, but this time the outcome was in doubt until the very last pitch. The visiting Cloverdale Red Spurs played extremely well behind their ace M. Gregson. The Dodgers countered sending Ethan "Big E" Kano McGregor to the mound. The matchup did not disappoint as it turned into a classic pitching duel. There were some nasty pitches and fine defensive plays on both sides. The hometown squad looked to break the scoreless tie in the 4th inning on a Kano McGregor single, but on the ensuing batter the Cloverdale shortstop flashed some leather and robbed Sean "Big Dog" Donnelly of a sure single and a likely RBI. In the top of the 5th inning the deadlock was finally broken when the Dodger hurler gave up a leadoff walk on a full count. After two ground ball outs, the Spurs' baserunner came around to score on a wild pitch (just one pitch before the strikeout and third out was registered). The Dodgers threatened again in the bottom half of the frame on a Yi-Fan Pan single and a beautiful sacrifice bunt by "Action" Jackson LaPointe. Unfortunately, the Dodger rally was quelled when the Spurs induced a ground ball to first for the third out. The Spurs tacked on another run in the sixth on a single and an overthrow before James "Crazy 8" Hardy, who'd come into the game in relief of Kano McGregor to begin the sixth inning, snuffed out the trouble. | Posted Apr 22/12 - Dodgers Extend Win Streak to 3 |
| The Langley-Aldergrove Dodgers defeated the visiting Cowichan Valley Mustangs 16 to 6 Sunday afternoon at Aldergrove Athletic Park. The plucky Mustangs stormed out to a 3 run lead in the top of the first inning even though they'd played two games the day before in Abbotsford. They took the lead with an unearned run and some solid hits off starter John Lipp. However, the hometown squad returned the favour in the bottom of the frame and then took control behind Lipp who eventually went 3 innings for the win. Matthew Selinger came in for 1 1/3 before Spencer "Barkie" Barkes closed out the final 1 2/3 innings to earn the save. On offense, John "K-9" Lipp helped his own cause with an RBI triple to the warning track in deep right field. Other notables were Mitchell Taylor who went 2 for 4 with a single and a double, Matthew "Sellie" Selinger and Sean "Big Dog" Donnelly who both went 1 for 1 while also "taking one for the team", Justin Arnold who shook off a hard shot to his side in his first at bat and then went 1 for 2, Cole Cantelon who walked twice and scored both times, and Ethan Kano McGregor who, in addition to catching all 6 innings, spent plenty of time on base going 1 for 2 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored. | Posted Apr 15/12 - Dodgers Dominate in Twin Tilt with Cloverdale Red |
| The Langley Aldergrove Dodgers played well in Cloverdale Sunday afternoon, winning both games of a back to back double header. In the first game the Dodgers defeated the Red Spurs 15 to 4 in six innings behind the dominant pitching of Ethan Kano McGregor. "Big E" went 4 strong innings for the Win and mixed his pitches against the big hitting Cloverdale squad. Dodger pitchers received plenty of run support as the Blue Machine were aggressive at the plate and on the base paths. James Hardy came in to pitch the last two innings and shut out the Red Spurs to earn the save. Other notables included Sean Donnelly who went 2 for 2, Kano McGregor who helped himself with 2 hits and 3 RBI's, and Justin Arnold who cleared the bases in the Dodgers 7 run fourth inning with a beautiful double down the line. Indeed, every player in the Dodger line up distinguished themselves and should be proud of their effort. Read More...

| Posted Apr 11/12 - Dodgers Lose to Cloverdale Black in Home Opener |
| The Langley-Aldergrove Dodgers were defeated by the heavy-hitting Cloverdale Black Spurs in the inaugural season opener. The relative youth of the home team was evident as the team had difficulty in shaking off a rough first inning and eventually lost 18 to 1 to the Black Spurs in 5 innings. Over the night the Black Spurs hit two home runs over the double height fence in straight away center field. The first was off starter John Lipp and one off Jackson Lapointe. Other pitchers on the night included Cole Cantelon and Ethan Kano McGregor who both pitched well in relief. Other bright spots included the play of Sean Donnelly, who went 2 for 2, with a double and single, and Mitchell Taylor who caught the Spurs napping and made a smart baseball play scoring easily from second on a routine infield play. The Langley-Aldergrove Dodgers played well in their second game in the Cloverdale Jamboree, but had to settle for a tie with the Tri City Indians after 6 innings when the 'no new inning after 90 minutes' rule was invoked. Once again, Dodgers pitching was strong with 3 new hurlers going to the mound. However, this time the defence tightened up and the Dodgers were much more aggressive at the plate. Notables included Ethan "Big E" Kano McGregor who played well behind the plate, "Action" Jackson LaPointe who went 1 for 2, Matthew "Sellie" Selinger who went 1 for 1, and Yi-An Pan who went 1 for 2 and pitched two great innings (5 K). Yi-An was named the Dodgers player of the game.

| Posted Mar 31/12 - Dodgers Drop Jamboree Game vs. Angels |
The Langley-Aldergrove Dodgers dropped their first game of the Cloverdale Pre Season Jamboree losing 5-0 to the Abbotsford Angels. The Dodgers had a slow start despite quality pitches from Ethan Kano McGregor and gave away a total of four runs over the first two innings by making uncharacteristic mental and fielding errors. The squad settled in from the third inning on behind the very solid pitching of John Lipp and Bailey Roope. Overall, Dodger pitchers held the Angels to 3 hits. However, the Dodger bats were quiet throughout the day, with only Sean "Big Dog" Donnelly recording a hit (he reached base twice in his first outing after coming off the Injury Reserve List). Matthew "Sellie" Selinger was the only other Dodger to reach twice. Read More...

On a snowy wet and cold Sunday, the Richmond Chuckers and hometown Dodgers played a suprisely great game. Although the field was soft, both sides had an opportunity to try different things and different players at different positions in game conditions. with thier teams. For the the Dodgers pitching was great, defence was good, but we still need to work on our bats and base running. To the Dodgers' credit they came to play and showed thier potental as several key defensive plays were made including a great dive in left field and a great double play started at third. Our pitchers induced several ground balls by locating their pitches and keeping the ball low in the zone and, when the Chuckers did make contact, the infield made several key plays to help out their pitchers. Despite sound pitching from seven different pitchers, the Dodgers failed to win either of the games. However, they showed well and improved throughout the day in what was the very first time they'd taken the field as a team.
